Drifter was beautiful beyond belief. We should have kept him! He was a joy to own and he would have been a tremendous asset to our breeding program. But instead we decided to share our good fortune and exported Drifter to Australia, where he sired champion offspring and passed his beauty, wonderful personality, and genetic quality to the Collies Downunder.

Drifter has many descendents, many on their way to their

Australian titles. Our loss was Australia's gain, but we still miss our gentle, elegant Collie dog in the glorious clear blue coat.

We are so fortunate that a repeat frozen semen artificial insemination gave us Drifter's younger full brother, Rainshade Gamut Warning ("Max"), who stayed with us his entire life at Rainshade Collies and who sired numerous gorgeous litters for us before he passed away of old age in February 2009. He gave us more than 13 years of love and joy and we will always miss him. Happily, we have some of Max's half-siblings, born September 2009, from frozen semen from Rainshade Blizzard of Awes and are thrilled to see this wonderful line continue of four straight generations produced from frozen semen!

Drifter's pedigree is the same as the pedigree of Rainshade Gamut Warning, his full brother.
